A gala concert dedicated to the official opening of the Austrian Cultural Season in Belarus

The “Music of Austria” gala concert will mark the official opening of the Austrian Cultural Season in Belarus. World-renowned stars of classical music will perform on the stage of the Palace of the Republic, including Polish soprano Marta Poliszot, Austrian tenor Jörg Schneider and Austrian violinist and conductor Rainer Honeck.

Rainer Honeck, born in 1961 in Nenzing, Vorarlberg, was accepted as a first violinist in the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic when he was 20 years old. He went on to become the leader of the state opera in 1984 and leader of the philharmonic in 1992. As a soloist, Rainer Honeck has performed at prestigious concert halls around Europe (Royal Albert Hall, London), America (Carnegie Hall, New York) and Japan (Suntory Hall, Tokyo). Rainer Honeck plays a Stradivarius violin, “ex-Hämmerle” (1709), loaned to him by the National Bank of Austria.
